I have just finished combing through the vast collection of newspaper clippings on the website of UFO Research (New South Wales) (click here.) This post takes a look at an intriguing report carried in an uncited newspaper dated Friday 8 Aug 1980. It reads:
“Darwin plane ‘left standing’ by UFO.
The crew of a TAA DC-9 says the plane was outpaced by an unidentified flying object over Queensland. So the RAAF immediately began an urgent investigation into the report.
The TAA crew said they made the UFO sighting near Cairns on Thursday when they were flying to Darwin, they said.
The UFO left a vapour trail and was so fast it quickly outdistanced the DC-9 the crew said.
Defence authorities and meteorological experts yesterday could give no explanation of the incident.
A Transport Department spokesman said no civil aircraft was in the area at the time.
An RAAF spokesman said “It was not a Canberra bomber. They can fly high and there was no F-111 fighter there either.
The relieving Air Advisor at the US Embassy, Captain D Estele, said no B-52 bomber was in Australian airspace on Thursday.
Investigators have been told by the TAA crew that the DC-9 was flying at 9,445 (31,000ft). They estimated that the UFO, directly above them, was flying at 15,223m (50,000ft.)”
Comments:
1. There are no RAAF UAP files available for 1980 in the National Archives of Australia (NAA), so it is not possible to check this report via this source.
2. I have never come across this report in any other agency files held by the NAA.
3. The incident is not recorded in the RAAF Base Darwin’s UFO files. See my previous post (click here.)
4. It is possible it is buried somewhere on a file belonging to one of the RAAF bases in Queensland on a file we are not yet aware of.

The nite that made me a believer!
On January 21,2011 at the time of 18:24:50, my wife and I was laying on our bed and watching a movie. There had a very bright light on my front yard that I noticed on my TV monitor which I used for my security cameras.I did not know what I was looking at because I have never seen nothing like this. It was so amazeing to have this happened to me, I have never seen a light so bright in my life. This light was round in shape, the light was changing in shape to a star like figure. Than I noticed an image that looked like a person below the light with some type of craft under this person. Than all of the sudden the craft flew right towards my camera and was gone.
I also have a perfect round white circle flying across my backyard recorded. Please contact me for the video, you have to have security software in order to open!
EVERYDAY I GO HOME DRIVING FROM MY OFFICE AND TAKING 41NW STREET GOING EAST TO GET INTO THE PALMETTO HIGHWAY,THAT NIGHT AS SOON I DID CROSS 97AVE I NOTICED A STRONG CIRCULAR LIGHT IN THE HORIZON IN FRONT OF ME AND ABOVE THE CITY LIGHTS AND TRAFIC LIGHTS, THE SPHERE WAS POSITIONED NORTH OF THE MIAMI AIRPORT AND STEADY ,I KEEP DRIVING AND THE SPHERE WAS MOVING VERY SLOW SOUTH CROSSING OVER THE AIRPORT, AT THAT MOMENT I REALIZED THAT CANNOT BE A PLANE IF THAT IS MOVING NORTH TO SOUTH AND THE PLANES LAND IN MIAMI EITHER FORM WEST TO EAST OR EAST TO WEST, I TOOK MY CELLULAR PHONE AND START RECORDING WHILE DRIVING, WHEN I DID CROSSED 87 AVE AND THEM 84TH Avenue I SAW THAT THE SPHERE HAD MOVE SOUTH OF THE AIPORT AT ABOUT 3 TO 5 MILES AND THE SPHERE WAS BIG AND SUPER BRIGHT,IT WAS EMITTING A VERY CONSTANT BRIGHT FLASHING LIGHTS, I KEEP RECORDING UNTIL I WAS UNDER THE HIGHTWAY BRIDGE AND TOOK THE ENTRANCE TO THE HIGHWAY AND I COULD RECORD ANYMORE SINCE I WAS TAKING A 350 DEGREE CURB, AT THAT RAMP GOING UP I KEEP SEEING THE SPHERE UNTIL I WAS FACING NORTH AND I LOST THE SIGHT OF IT.I WAS SURE THAT THE BIG SPHERE WAS NOT A PLANE AND THE ONLY THINK THAT COULB BE A BIG HELIPCOTER, BUT THERE WAS NOT ANY METALLIC FORMS AND i NEVER SAW A HELICOPTER PRODUCE SUCH OF INTENSE FLASHING LIGHTS AND HOW A HELICOPTER WILL BE TRAVELING FROM NORTH TO SOUTH OVER THE AIRPORT INTERFERING WITH THE AIR TRAFICC, SAW THAT NIGH I LOOK AT THE LOCAL NEWS AND I DID NOT HEAR ANY REPORTS OF AN STRANGE OBJECT.
I had just dropped of my mother and my aunt at the front of this grocery store and went to park my rental car at an area in the parking lot that was slightly higher so that way I could get a better view of when my relatives come out of the grocery store and are ready to be picked up , since I was on an emergency visit and did’nt know how much time I would be staying for I called an old friend to come meet me for a bit while I waited , when my good friend arrived he and his cousin greeted me outside between our cars , they were talking and suddenly I noticed a shape up in the clouds I could not believe what I was seeing … It was a large disc , I could not stop from watching this disc ,I was trying in my head to come up with an excuse to what it was’nt but I knew it was not a ballon , because it would be floting away , This disc just stood very still , part of it I would say less than half was in the cloud , I wanted to reach out to my friends and have them look up but as I was about to do so The disc began to move perfectly straight up until It was so small it disapeared ! I remember it was a flat silver or grey disc, as soon as it was gone I asked my friends if they saw it , then we stood there talking about it while looking up in case the disk returned . I will never forget !
tonight at 9:43pm cst .5/20/2011 i was outside talking to my neighbor .and just looked up in the eastern sky and seen a bright light in the sky it seamed to turn slowly and then vanish . the sighting lasted maybe 30 seconds . i didnt say anything to my neighbor untill it was over . as i thought at first it was a plane coming out of the clouds with its landing lights on . then i seen there was no clouds and the stars were out in a clear sky. there was only 1 light . not 2 like landing lights . and there was no strobe or flashing lights like an airplane . also there was no sound of any kind . it did not look like a shooting star , as it was white in color. it seamed to turn as the light got dimmer then was gone . thought it was a plane and went back in to the clouds . dont know if it’s a ufo or not . but it is strange , so i figured i’d report it.

My Home is near to Izmir-Ataturk Airport (IZMIR/TURKEY) about 45 km. I can see very clearly to airplanes which come down to the airport at nights. I observed many UFOs since 1993 in my city especially many ones in a vlillage out of the city, but I succeed to record this video over city centre.
When I was surfing on the internet in my room, I needed to get fresh air from my balcony. I just look around the sky , I saw the blue object in the sky the rotation of 2 o’clock. ?t was very slow like an helicopter, Firt of all I was think it could be helicopter. ?t was easyly and slowly flowing to the behind my apartment. When it came top of me I realised there is no signal lamps, no wings,no voice, I got my handy-cam which is 40 optical zoom and I run from the balcony to the front door of the apartment. And I succeed to record this video.
When the object moved the next street , I was run to the main road and some peaople gathered around me that what I am recording. We stated to talk and I was trying to get clear view which the object behind the coulds. Suddenly it appeeard few ones more and they are opened and closed the blue lights few times supposing they were known that we see them. Few people are saw those lights with me. That happen 1 or 2 minute like signal.And They disappeared inside the clouds.
When I saw the object I feel an exite,?t was very clear for me that was not a known flying soucer, baloon or human made. After the record when I watched in my pc I suprised the object is very speedy manipulated from 1.07 second to 1.14 second according to which I marked refference point electricity lines on the street.

At 1:36Am 30 April 2011 my brother and i walked out on the back porch of our house to smoke a cigarette, when lighting my cigarette i noticed that the birds were not chirping and there was no noise at all, when i turned my head to the right i noticed a sudden change in color on the ground and trees, immediately after seeing this i see movement in my peripheral vision and looked up and saw a aircraft in the sky moving northeast moving over the corner of the house. the air craft is very hard to describe in words, it had 5 circular lights that emitted the orange reddish glow that was in a v shaped pattern but the craft itself was not exactly v shaped. it had a long body that seemed to narrow at the front and expand to the rear and it was a blackish metal that had a slight shine to it . the way it moved it was gliding at a slow pace than slowed a bit more to a near stop than started moving in at a angle but the lights or craft did not turn at all and continued moving. upon seeing it i thought i was seeing things and pulled my brother out from away the house for him to see it. when we both acknowledged it, it was close to being over head by then, i felt i sudden fear Ive never felt in my life come upon me and forced myself into the house. coming in we woke our father up and took him outside but by that time it was gone, minutes after the birds started chirping again. afterwords we both felt very tired and shocked, it was very hard to sleep after that for me.

Friend and I were driving home from dinner, thought I saw a jet with chem-trails way up, but when I looked closer it was more of like a silver oblong shape standing vertically. Then it would change to a small white light, and back again periodically. We saw what appeared to be dark clouds around it, but they seemed to move around the light which seemed to fade from time to time but never completely and then return to full brightness. These could only be seen when it was not vertical. We took a few turns to get a better look and watched this all unfold for probably five minutes until eventually the light could not be seen anymore. We felt perplexed, not scared, but definitely curious. Unfortunately, my phone was not able to pick up the object on its camera.
