We had finished work at the Warrington Motor Lodge & Restaurant around 11 pm.
Route 611 & Route 132 ( Street Rd ), NE corner
We were in the back parking lot facing east when we saw an object to NNE
moving slowly just above the tree line, it slowed & hovered then descended
out of sight then in a few minutes ascended back up & moved away slowly.
We were close enough to hear noise if it was a helicopter, but we heard nothing.
Willow Grove NAS is several miles to the south so it was not associated to NAS at 11 pm
We all said to each other that we just saw a UFO.
My memory of the time line is unclear
It could have been 1975 or 76
Were there any other reports in those years?
It would have been in Warrington Twp.
It was Saturday, May 14th, 2011 around 12:30pm. It was a bright, hot sunny day without any clouds in the sky. My friends and I were driving to an outdoor market. I was in the back seat, right side, of my friends? car travelling west on E. Speedway Boulevard, Tucson, AZ. I believe I first spotted the object near the intersection w/ Craycroft. I saw one silvery-golden cylindrical metal craft that was shaped like a cigar or a cigarette (long and thin). It was flying in the same direction as we were travelling (westward) in the sky north of us. It was flying fast. It was the size of a large plane except longer and thin and no wings. It was not all that high in the sky which made me think it was taking off or landing. It was flying fairly level so it didn’t appear to have just taken off or preparing for landing. It appeared to have a thin stripe of an orange metallic color at the front and another thin orange stripe in the center. There were no wings and we didn?t her any plane noises. I pointed it out to my friend who was in the front passenger seat and she also saw it. I don?t know if the driver saw it. We watched it for a few blocks then it was out of our view and we lost sight of it. Neither of us knew what it was but had never seen anything like it.
On March 7th, 2011, I was flying from KRYY (McCollum Field) located in Kennesaw Georgia direct to KAGC (Allegheny County) located near Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, in my single engine Cessna 172. At 8:23 PM Eastern Time, my attention was drawn to a fairly bright light located in the sky out of my front window at approximately an 11 o ?clock position relative to the nose of my aircraft. Over the next few seconds this light exhibited a strange behavior not typical for conventional aircraft.
Immediately after the event occurred, I recorded a series of hand written notes on a Charlotte VFR sectional, since I was unable to locate a notepad at the time. My notes read exactly as follows:
March 7th 2011
8:23 PM
298 miles from
KACG Direct
From RYY
Left Front window
11:00 O clock
At least 20Kft
Slightly brighter than
Jet Landing Light
Sky clear At least 30- 50 miles away
Fades > S-turn in Assent
Brightest Top
Fades as it Moves SIDE
As soon as I look up it moves and takes S turn
The following is my own account of the event from memory, as I recalled it approximately three months later:
My autopilot was engaged and I was checking something on my iPhone. As I looked up briefly to engage in a regular scan of my instrument panel, my attention was drawn to a light located in the sky. At first it appeared almost exactly as a normal landing light on a conventional aircraft, with the acceptation being that it appeared slightly brighter in intensity. The color temperature of the light appeared identical to that of a traditional halogen landing light (yellowish white CCT approximately 3500 degrees Kelvin). It appeared to move slowly from my right to left (opposite to my direction of travel) and then appeared to accelerate while performing an ascending right turn towards the west. I now estimate the craft may have been 20 miles away, slightly closer than I originally assumed. My altitude at the time was 10,500 feet MSL, and the light appeared at a slightly higher altitude than my own.
My general speculations about this event:
It is extremely easy and common to misidentify objects and lights in the sky, even for experienced pilots. This is mainly due to lack of a reference point, making it difficult to determine factors such as distance, speed, altitude, and size. However, I have logged a significant portion of night hours and have always paid close attention to the appearance of other aircraft in the night sky. Due to the maneuvers performed by the light I witnessed (perceived as accelerating ascending right turn) I can state with some confidence that what I witnessed was most likely not a conventional aircraft. In my opinion, there is a very good possibility it may have been some type of high performance, top secret, or/and experimental craft. Based on my estimate, it is possible this craft was traveling in excess of 1000 knots, but a truly accurate speed cannot be determined due to a lack of reference points. I must note, as the light appeared to perform the turning maneuver; the intensity grew consistency dimmer in a very linear fashion. This is important to note because the light appeared to remain dim, but visible, as it proceeded away from my aircraft. This is not a typical trait of a forward facing landing light found on conventional aircraft.
My onboard GPS was programmed direct for KAGC, my destination in Pennsylvania. GPS indicated my distance was 298 nautical miles from KAGC. I later estimated my magnetic coarse would have been approximately 035 degrees. This indicates my aircraft location was in close proximity to Morristown Tennessee. Without factoring for a wind correction angle, I can estimate the strange light I witnessed may have been located in close proximity to the Harlan Kentucky general area.
The Weather Underground archives indicate the following conditions on that day at 8:20 PM, as recorded from the Jonesville Virginia weather reporting station. Temperature 37.4 degrees F, due point 30.2 degrees F, humidity 75%, sea level pressure 30.21 in, visibility 10 miles, wind calm, no gusts, no precipitation, conditions partly cloudy.
My conclusion:
Based on lack of data, all I can conclude at this time is that I witnessed the visible white light being emitted from a self-powered and intelligently controlled object or vehicle, as it performed maneuvers not typical to conventional aircraft.
Bright summer night. I am in bed in our upstair bedroom with large windown facing the lake. Hot. All windows open. 1:10am. Dog baking woke me, I checked time. Started back to bed when barking stopped, but few min. later dog barking became more intense as he ran around and down by lake. Bright moon light, everything bright as day. Moon light path across the water from a 45 degree angle. Saw a 2nd light path at 90 degrees. Looked up and saw a “peacock blue sphere about 300′ up. It had a white ring around the sphere and a beam of light decending to the water. The beam hit the water aprox. 1/4 of a mile out from my home. It was moving slowly toward me. I thought it was a helicoptor, perhaps searching for someone, but there was no sound at all. Even in “whisper mode” you can here a “womp womp” sound from a chopped. The object passed in from of the full moon and was clearly a solid object, sphere shapped with no visiable wings or tail assembly. – - It was pfretty exciting. I watched intently. The light got closer and closer. I began to feel some alarm. What the heck was this??? Then, just as the object passed over the shore line and the beam of light touched my lawn, it winked out. The object was just gone. There was so sign of anything up there at all. Never a single sound, and even with the bright moonlight, I could see nothing in the sky.
I had an earlier sighting as well. About 1972, and this was also seen by several others here. Dale Snipes
I was at a bar in Edwardsville IL talking to a friend and a server when I happend to look up and see something Greeen, very bright and extremly large ( Way bigger the any aircraft I have seen) it looked as if it may have been exploding and seemed to have like a green tail to it. It was cloud out this evening so we know it was below the clouds. Several other people also happend to see it at the bar I was at. Then I mentioned it on facebook and people from sevearl miles away even acroos the river in st louis had also confirmed they saw the same thing. anyway it was moving very fast and it was gone as fast as it came. Sorry im not the greatest writer but what i saw was truly amazing.
My brother and I were traveling north on Canal Road in the afternoon, bright sunshine and no wind. The windows were down in the vehical we were traveling in, as there was no AC in vehical, the object appeared from are right traveling west. It was moving at a high rate of speed. The object had no decernible markings and absolutely no sound whatever. The object disappeard because of trees blocking are view. Both my brother and I were astounded by the speed it was traveling.
What made us notice the object in the first place was the britness of the object during the daylight. This object was not a jet plane or any other man made object. Our feelings at the time was we witnessed a UFO.
CMS/mcm In 1979 witness was 17 yo airman on Lowry AFB (now defunct) in Denver area. He and two witnesses observed a circular object with lights around the edge, flying very slowly overhead at about 200 ft. 50 meters wide, no sound, quite large, approached diagonally while they were walking in the dark in a snowfield on the base. They followed object for about 20 mins until they reached a fenceline and could go no further.
I didn’t actually see the object firsthand. I noticed the moon that night and it was very beautiful so I snapped a picture over it and I saw this boomerang thing. I have seen these objects firsthand once before in Granbury, Texas. See the above picture for a good look. Sorry that the photo is so pixilated.
I was in granburry texas when i was a boy and i saw this same thing, now when i saw it foirsthand, i saw the center light change from red to green, red to green, i believe it was taking a picture. The object literally fell out of the sky, it began as a star and sped down at an incredible rate. themn it hovered for about two minutes, then sped off into the distance.
When i took this picture, i was actually photographing the moon, and noticed it later, my mind instantly went back to that night in granbury.

At 4:50am while working at the U. P. S. Worldport ramp 9 spot 29 location, my attention was drawn to a departing commercial flight taking off nearby.. The moment I looked up I noticed a dark object passing directly overhead.. Traveling northeast at a slow speed.. The object was completely dark with a bright solid light at the rear.. This object didn’t have any noticeable FAA required becon lights and didn’t match the appearance of an aircraft circling because of a missed approach.. It continued on a northeast course till I lost sight..
It should be stated I have over 26 years experience working around aircraft and have witnessed arriving and departing aircraft numerous time.. What concerns me most is just how close this object was to the departing flight at take off..
