This sighting is being reported by Investigator Beverly Trout for the witness, Deborah Brackenbury.
On May 23, 2011, at 1:30 a.m., a female witness, in bed on their 2nd floor with her husband, awakened to the EXCITED BARKING OF ONE (1) OF THEIR THREE (3) DOGS. Her husband, who did not get out of bed, said, ???Oh, I forgot to lower the shades,??? meaning, the window shades in the sun-porch-like room on the lower level of their 2-storey house where the three (3) dogs are always penned in at night. (They have cats, but the cats were shut into a spare bedroom on the 2nd floor of the house, so there was no opportunity for excitable interaction between the dogs on the first floor and the cats on the 2nd floor.)
The witness says it was perhaps 10 seconds after the dog started barking before she got out of bed. Her husband stayed in bed as the female witness looked out their 2nd storey bedroom window and saw a tiny, white. silent light (twice the brilliance of a firefly) moving along their front yard fenceline in the direction of their neighbor???s home some 100 feet on along the road. (Witness thought the light was on the outside of the fence, but says she can???t be totally sure it wasn???t on the inside of the fence; she believes it definitely was not in the roadway.) It should be noted that this is a dead-end road so traffic is minimal, and that the LIGHT WAS MOVING AWAY FROM THE DEAD-END, RATHER THAN TOWARD IT.
Witness observed that this tiny white light ALWAYS STAYED LEVEL AT ABOUT TWO (2) FEET ABOVE THE GROUND, AND ALWAYS MOVED AT A STEADY UNWAVERING HORIZONTAL PACE, WITH NO ZIGZAGGING OR SIDE-TO-SIDE MOTION. She also observed that the LIGHT SWITCHED ON AND OFF IN A REGULAR RHYTHM. She was reminded of her husband???s electric toothbrush light, which switches on and off in its charging rhythm. Witness indicates that the light seemed mechanical, and her estimate is that the on-off intervals were a bit longer than one second; she actually estimates 7-8 per 10 seconds. This figures out to 17 to 20 times during the 25 seconds she believes she had the light in sight. (It should be noted that no fireflies have yet been seen in that area, nor would be expected this early in the season in the state of Iowa.)
Witness was surprised to observe NO ILLUMINATION FROM THIS LIGHT. (It should be noted that there are NO SECURITY YARD LIGHTS IN THIS AREA, and witness indicates total darkness.) She was also surprised that only one (1) dog excitedly barked, since the usual pattern is for all three (3) dogs to chime in when one of them gets excited. Witness also notes that the dog which barked is the ???smarter??? of their three dogs.
Distance from the witness??? vantage point to about mid-way along the front yard fenceline where she first saw the light moving, is approximately 40 feet. Witness observed movement of this light for a land distance of some 40 feet, that is, from mid-yard fenceline to just past the driveway gate area where she lost sight of this tiny white light as it made its way on toward the neighbor???s house, and was obscured by vegetation.
As stated above, she estimates that the light was moving so slowly that she had it in sight for about 25 seconds, in other words that it moved a bit over 1 ??? feet per second, which figures out to a bit over one (1) mile per hour.
Her husband indicates that if his wife had thought to tell him right away that the LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE, he would have probably gotten out of bed to look out the window, also.
Witness says she was looking out at total darkness. Since the moon was only 5 degrees altitude at 107 degrees azimuth, the moon apparently shed no appreciable light on the area of this sighting.
Witness checked the time as 1:30 a.m. just before she went to the window and saw the light, but says SHE DID NOT CHECK THE TIME WHEN THE INCIDENT WAS OVER.
Witness has excellent distance vision, and so wears no glasses except for reading purposes.
Investigator Trout called the local police department and was told they had received no other reports in the area.
[[[INVESTIGATOR???S NOTE: It should be noted that this family moved to Iowa from another state in the Fall of 2010, and that Investigator Trout has known this family and has had a sense of their credibility for some ten years. It should also be noted that family members have a history of abduction, that is, two adult children, as well as at least one of the parents. They have no wish to have their identity known. Some years ago, one of the parents underwent a rather traumatic hypnosis session with a well-known hypnotherapist, (who frequently speaks in public), and has never had a wish to pursue any further probing into the abduction experiences. WHETHER THE CURRENT REPORT INDICATES ANY CONNECTION WITH THE FAMILY ABDUCTION HISTORY, OF COURSE, IS NOT KNOWN; it simply deserves to be mentioned here.

1. I saw a very bright light in the night sky, off the big dipper pan, in the direction of Las Vegas. The light was like a halogen going out. Then I saw a pin light crossing the pan of the big dipper at a very fast rate, then it was gone.
2. I went out to my back yard to have a smoke. I looked up and saw my event.
3. I always look at the night sky and that’s when I noticed the bright light, followed by the moving pin light.
4. The object that got my attion was the bight light going on/off and it was followed by the pin light crossing the big dippers pan.
5. My reaction is one of “what the hell did I just see?”. That was during the event and after.
6. The way that I lost sight of the pin light was that it went into the night sky.
13 year old son, getting ready for bed looked out back patio door and observed lights/objects moving across the sky from southeast to northwest direction. Wife quickly joined observation and called me up from the basement office to see. Objects were dark and not in a highly definable shape, although each one had a visible flame or fire. Speed was steady, not unusually fast. Direction appeared to be linear, no apparent horizontal or vertical movement during observation. Did view objects through binoculars, still could not identify.
After last object no longer viewable due to obstruction by home, went to front lawn to see if objects were still visible. No sign of objects.
Shortly thereafter sounds similar to gunfire or fireworks were heard. Do not recall number of reports.
Presume this was some kind of fireworks display, no way to verify.

I was on vacation in Cabo San Lucus sitting and relaxing in a hot tub with my wife. I happened to look up into the sky and saw a bright object moving slowly from the west. I am an amateur meteorologist at home so I am used to viewing objects in the sky. It was daylight and I used some cirrus clouds that it crossed and so I realized that the object had to be more then 30,000 feet high as it was in back of the clouds. The light was bright and strobe like pulsating very fast. Both my wife and I watched the object for quite a while. I also used part of the building as reference as it approached from the west then drifted off to the west-southwest. The object never rose any higher then say 60 degrees above the horizon. I wish I had my camera!
This is not the first time I have seen a UFO in Cabo San Lucus. A time before
some 5 years ago in October both my wife and I saw an object when we were having dinner one evening on the beach at a popular Taverna called the Office. There I saw a soft orange object moving very slowly from the East to a point at about 75 degrees above the horizon then turned north. Again we both watched the object for probably 30 minutes. I called on the waiter and jokingly asked him what he thought about the object. He told both my wife and I that it was the gold returning to La Paz. My wife and I have been to Cabo some 7 or 8 times. I can tell you that I will not be without a camera again there!
Have you had many reports of UFOs there?

This sighting happened back in 88, about a year after I graduated. Me, and a friend of mine were out driving around, got a coke and burger, noticed a very intense thunder storm cell to the Northeast. It was intence, lightening every second. More intense than most. Rarely does storms come in from this direction, but, as we watched for awhile, it seemed to be moving toward Roswell. We were kinda looking for something to do. It was getting close to sundown. So, we decided to drive out about 10 miles to the east of roswell where there are some small mountains overlooking the city, close to the pecos river. Everyone calls this place the overlook. We parked, facing the storm, which was very close, still intence. The sun had just went down, and it was kinda getting dark. The storm wasnt like super huge or anything. Kinda like a super, mini cell. It was butifull to watch. No, we werent drinking or doing drugs, thats something I never got into. The winds started picking up as it got closer. We could here a constant rumbling of thunder. The clouds were like rippled, and very low. We were kinda getting nervous, and were talking about getting out of there when I noticed a light dip out from the low rippled clouds. It just sat there for around 30 seconds. I told my friend to look. He seen it too just before it went back up into the cloud. It surely wasnt an airplane, because it wasnt moving. It then dipped back down again, again stopping just below the clouds, then, a few seconds later, a second light dipped out. This one was close to the first one. My friend tried getting a picture, but, only had a cheap regular camera, and of coarse nothing came out. About a minute later, the first light goes back up, followed closely by the second. The winds were blowing like crazy, as it started sprinkling. We braved it out, hoping to see more of the objects, wondering what they were. If they were manmade we thought, it would have had to been helicopters. But, I just couldnt imagine helicopters hovering in an intense thunderstorm like this one. I dont know much about helicopters. But, if they sometimes do things like this, then, maybe it was just helicopters. I just find it hard to believe, with all the lightening and winds. Only other idea I have, is that it might have been ball lightening. But, I dont give that much credit either. The lights seemed to be inteligently controlled, dipping to a certain point, then going back up. Kinda like playing peek a boo. Anyway, Im putting this down, kinda interested in other points of views on what they might have been, and, wondering if anyone else has ever seen anything like this. One last thing, might be strange, might not. But, the storm seemed to change directions, right when it got to the edge of where we were. It slowly drifted back east, going the oposite direction of Roswell……
