Author: i work for a local area medical service and my partner {which is a pilot may i add} and i were on our way back from an assignment when we both (who are sky watchers)noticed what we thought was Mars and was unusually bright. we were coming from the rural area which has little to no light pollution and just thought that is why it looked so bright.well right beside it we noticed a simular object that was redish in color but appeared to be lower and moving in a absolut strait line to the west and getting closer and clearer still in a strait path but away from the brighter red mars like object. when i say mars like im speaking of the clear nights that you can see the red planet without a telescope. now my partner being a pilot said that he thought that it was a low flying plane that just left bush field with its red navigation light stuck in the on position givin it the redish color. as we pull up to the intersection i notice the object start to slow and all of the sudden it stops in mid path and starts to get brighter and then it appeared to catch fire. i told him to look and i stated oh man that plane just caught on fire and he agreed to what i saw. at that time we were looking more and more concerned at the incident we thought for sure was a plane that had caught on fire and was surely in trouble . at the intersection us looking up and out of the ambulance in a concerned fashion also caught the eye of the cars around us and they also started looking in the direction that we were looking and they also looking to be concerned. in the same fashion that the object appeared it started to reversed its action and turned back into the tight redish object we observed before. the object then started moving in the oppisite direction to the east in a steady speed and then all of the sudden it took off at a very high rate of speed back toward the other redish object covering around 12 inches of the skyline in about 3 seconds and all of the sudden the object does an abrubt 90 degree right angle and instantly moves out of sight . my partner and i both are speechles on the event that just happened and immediately pull into a parking lot and quickly get out to attempt to view the object further.at that time unable to explain what just happened we noticed the original bright mars like object had also dissapeared. confused and trying to figure out what we just saw we thought of all sorts of things that could explain the event that just occured from helicopters to planes to meteorites and him having knowledge of a vast assortment of aircraft ruled out every thing that we thought of due to the dilibrate movement , speed and the angle of the change of direction that it displayed and then the empty area of the sky that the whole event started in. I being a sceptic in this area have been left completely unable to explain this event. my partner and i both spent half the night trying to explain away the event and make sense of it. being unable to do that i have a whole different look on this area now and as interesting as it is i find it hard to wrap my mind around it. this event changed my whole outlook.
