Author: St.Albans Vermont.. I had just got done watching the History Channels “Ancient Aliens”.. (i love this stuff) and I thought my mom was joking when she ran into my room and said “you wanna see a UFO” and walked away.. I laughed and thought she heard me watching that show but I got up and followed her to our front door of the house. She pointed across the street to the left of out neighbors house and to the left of a big oak tree.. This is what I saw.. A star-like object in the sky but seemed to be alot closer than a star and it was flashing different colors from blue to red mostly but but white too and sometimes a “flash” of yellow that made the object double in size.. It seemed as if the lights were rotating in a circular motion because the blue and red were almost non-stop. The object would slighty move in the sky because we were not moving from our spot on the patio and the object would get behind the big branches of the oak tree without us moving at all. The object slighty went right and then it would rise slightly and after a couple minutes it would go back a little left and get outta of the way of oak tree in clear sight again.. My mom and girlfriend both bored of staring at the object for 10-20min. both went inside. I walked off my patio and closer to the object and noticed a blue star-like object zoom right over the top of the main object.. The blue star-like object that zoomed over it did not stop briefly or stand still it just zoomed over the top and went right by. I ran inside and told my mom i thought a plane went over the “UFO”.. My mom and I went back to our spot on the front patio and after 5 minutes or so of watching the object we both saw out of the eastern sky what we thought at first was a plane come from the direction of Plattsburgh New York and headed straight for the “UFO”. It flew over the top of the “UFO” and was blinking a red light at the front a green light in the middle and a red light at the back thats why i thought it was a plane..but no longer then 15-30 seconds went by and coming from the western sky and no more then 2-300 yards above our house a 2nd Helicopter (i call it 2nd because it was doing the same exact thing the first what i had thought to be a plane object was doing) flew directly over our house and was flashing a red light on front, green light in the middle, and red light at the back.. the 2nd helicopter went towards the exact direction the 1st plane/helicopter had started from.. the 2 helicopters seemed to be making a perfect circle around the “UFO” and at this point my mom seemed frightened a little and said ” what the f*** is going on around here”.. the helicopters went out of sight and I watched the object for 5 minutes and went inside to get some water because it was still 90 degrees out.. I went back outside with my girlfriend 5-10 minutes later and the object was gone! I was very mad it was gone because I wanted to see it when it/if it went away.. We got in the car and started to drive towards where the object was but it was not in the night sky anymore. I was quite upset and went back home. I am still quite excited with what seems to be my first sighting.. I also pulled my iPhone out and recorded (mostly by voice) what i was seeing at the time.

i live in england and ive been watching this curtain star/unknown object for a few weeks now, this object/star is flashing all different colours really fast and seems to keep moving in direction but doesnt seem to move up or down. the star/object is also getting small and bigger in size really quickly. im looking ou my window at the moment and its 3:06 am and another object has jus appeared but smaller and is flashing just like how i described the other object/star, they arnt gettin closer to eachother but are still moving from side to side and the smaller object is moving up and down. there is nothing that i can think of that this could be other than a UFO.
i would record for proof but ive tried an cant focus in enough to be a able to see the objects
any got any ideas on what this could be?
I too have seen this object from ft. Campbell, ky. I am a police officer on the military installation and I work nights. Every night I see this same sight. A blue, red and white strobelike flashing object. It does not seem to move,just flash. My friend from virginia told me about it and I looked and sure enough I saw exactly what he was talking about. It seems to be in rotation with the earthas it doesntmove through the sky as the moon or other stars do. Its most likely a satellite, or other type of communication or research device. Don’t think its a ufo persay.
Im in California and have been seeing the same thing here. Two weeks ago I noticed a star due west about 70 degrees from the horizon at 9:00pm and twinkle feircly in a red white and blue pattern. After watching it for an hour we ruled out it bein a plane, it was following the same orbital paths as the other stars. It was not Jupiter since Jupiter was near the moon due east. We looked through our telescope and saw the same thing flashing red white and blue in a triangular pattern not just flashing but changing locations in the triangle. I have been looking at it ever night since then in the same location. Just tonight looking at it again at 2:00 am I noticed another one facing north west, this one was much brighter and at 90 degrees from horizon. After 20 minutes I went inside to get the telescope again and when I went back outside they were both gone.
I’m sorry but I’m alittle freaked out. Theres a freaking FLASHING STAR IN THE SKY!! It’s been there for like a month!

I’m twelve years old and we learned about stars last year. We learned, well for one, that it takes ALOT to change a stars color. They’re that color for a reason. They’re not supposed to change like that unless their turning into a dwarf star. And the time between that change does not take a month. And it is just freaking me out! Please, can someone tell me about this!?!?!?!? AN EXPERT?!!? or even just someone with a powerful telescope…..
WOW!!! My kids and I have also seen this star or object in the sky. I myself have watched it for many hours, and it’s quite the star to watch. It’s pretty active most nights in the sky, when it’s there from what I’ve seen. Some nights more active than others.
I live in the Norther Idaho, where there’s no city light to dime my views of the stars in the sky. This star however,(or what ever it is)is so much brighter than any other star in the western sky. You truly can’t miss it or the light show that it performs, while in the sky. Even with a naked eye, you can see the twinkling green, red, and yellowish white lights that come from it.
I’ve looked at this object with my husbands highly powered scope. With the scope, the lights seem to go in a circular pattern from red, green, to white. It also move around in the western sky quite a bit. So much so, that it goes behind my trees where I can only see it through the branches. I’ve also seen it move downwards, like it’s going to land somewhere on the horizon. Then it will move quickly back up into the sky within a matter of 10 seconds. Other times, I’ve watched the lights just turn off for several minuets. Then randomly turn back on.
I’ve also seen it move down towards the horizon again like it landing, and then the lights will go off, then 3 to 5 min. later, It will be clear back up in the sky again shining bright, like it never disappeared or moved.
For about 6 months I’ve watched for this object, out of amazement and curiosity. I just want to see if it’s going to be there in the sky. I think that’s what bothers me the most. Not that it’s there, but that it’s not always there every night.. Why? Where does it go? I’m sure someone out there must know… And I’m hoping that they can explain the weirdness & coolness of this amazing object in our big beautiful sky.
But they’re probably not able to do much talking…..
I’m in St Johns US VI. (10/19/2010) The sky is unbelievably clear here. We are high on the island and have an amazing view. Since we got here 3 days ago, we have seen 3 of these green red white blinking objects in the Eastern sky 15 – 25 degrees above the horizon. We have assumed that they are geo-synchronous satellites, but I just learned that satellites don’t emit light. … I expected thousands of hits on it when googled. … This is what I found?
Well i’m from Oaxaca Mexico and i have just seen that light in tonights very very clear cold night , it flashes from white to red to some flashing and yellow occasionally. My first guess was that it might have been a ghetto bird (since i lived in LA and was used to seeing that blue and red flash from their tail) but then remembered that i was very far from the city and their are no helicopter around here. As i see it here its right under the big dipper.
What you are seeing is a blue Giant star called Rigel.

In comparison to our own sun (Sol) it is about the size of a silver dollar, while our sun is the size of a grain of salt. It is pulsating and preparing to die. It will become a super nova. There is a sun directly behind it as well. The light from the sun behind it has its light bent by Rigel’s gravity causing what is known as “gravitational lensing” and warping the light around it. The light also travels through a dust cloud in our part of the Milky Way. It will look more colorful the closer it is to the horizon, as it travels through more of the earth’s atmosphere. If you take a picture with a long lens camera on time exposure, and hand hold the camera, you can see every color distinctly.
When I first started noticing these lights, it was every now and then, maybe once a week or so. They seemed not to move at first but after watching for several minutes, it would disappear then reappear to a different spot. I’m a night owl and a smoker, so I go outside at night to smoke and look at the sky. I pretty much know what star is supposed to be there. (I’m not geeky enough to know all the names, wish I did though) Recently, I’ve noticed an incline in the amount of “twinkling stars” I have seen. Tonight there are five, I have never seen more than two at a time. I’m seeing it more often, even used really good binoculars, ones that can see the craters on the moon, and I can make out fours colors. Green, Red, Blue, and Super White. The first night I seen one, 4 planes circled the object for several minutes until it disappeared, thats what got me interested in finding out what it was. I first noticed it because I seen a big flash of light coming from it, that I thought was strange. I asked questions to the right people, although, they wouldnt say what it was, they did say it wasn’t a satellite, a plane, or anything from the US. The government doesnt know what it is. They are aware of it. There is speculation that it could be Russia spying, or something else. But the US is one of the only countries that does not recognize UFO’s. Just about every other descent country has a department of outer space affairs, (maybe called different). The US (gov’t) refuses to admit it because then the government would have to admit they have lied all these years. Mexico authorities even ask the public for help in identifying objects.
I am in Northern Illinois, and have been observing these for almost 3 years now. I have googled in the past, and tonight I have found the most posts – as this seems to be observed by many more. I have also asked astronomers, who have offered lame excuses – such as those already referenced. I too, would like to know what they really are! One post I stumbled on tonight indicated that someone told him that they were Navy owned…
Considering what may be occurring with HAARP and the flooding that may be leading up to the earthquake on the New Madrid fault and the subsequent land changes in the US (see the map here… http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?17203-Future-Navy-Map-of-USA) I can’t help but wonder if this could be a more likely cause than that of aliens? Which, by the way, I also have no problem accepting that they most certainly do exist – but, why would they hover with lights for so long?
Perhaps its part of what they are doing with the HAARP signals? Just putting this out there – anxious for input from any other free-thinkers…
My fiance and I live in Palatka Florida and have been watching this thing for weeks now. It’s fascinating but we can’t seem to get a clear answer on what it is. I’ve gotten the answer ‘mars’ and the star ‘Arcturus’ but the 12 yr old above knows what she’s talking about….and I agree with her. Stars don’t do that, she’s right. My dad is a Nasa enthusiast so I asked him. This “star” is in the western sky and is visible all night, but at around 5:30 to sunrise, this thing looks like it’s exploding…shooting bursts of light out all around it. It’s quite beautiful even with the naked eye, and I looked through binoculors and it was even cooler. My dad says it’s probably a planet setting in the horizon, but planets don’t flicker, supposedly. I’m wondering if it’s the Space Station????? I’m not sure WHAT to think!!!
I live in Iowa, I am seeing the same thing in the eastern sky, about 5:30am, very strange, it pulsates lights green red yellow white, & it moves very fast in little spurts left right up & down, I have been watching this thing for a long time, some nights it is in different spots in the eastern sky. I don’t know what to think, but I think it is a UFO Mother Ship Out a long ways.
sept. 7 2011, i saw this “star” last night for the first time.I’m in southern Wisconsin. the colors are almost unbeilivable. it moves with but faster than other stars. im shocked that this is something going on for years and haven’t heard a thing about this. i came looking for answers and now have many more questions…this is either a star under alot of stress, a craft (satalite moon) of some sort.. i don’t think it’s military, they wouldn’t want you to see the object if it was a secret… there is reference in the Hopi indian foklore that when a blue star dances in the sky a new age will come to be… this is a true x-file
Recorded the same star yesterday sept 12 2010 at Mexico city around 6 am until the sunrise, took my dslr and shot a few peics and a video if u want to check it out, it was located south south-east…
