Amazon.co.uk Review
Directed by stylemaster David Fincher, who went on to greater things with Seven and Fight Club, Alien 3 was the least successful of the Alien series at the box-office. Ripley, the only survivor of her past mission, awakens on a prison planet in the far corners of the solar system. As she tries to recover, she realises that not only has an alien got loose on the planet, the alien has implanted one of its own within her. As she battles the prison authorities (and is aided by the prisoners) in trying to kill the alien, she must also cope with a distinctly shortened life span that awaits her. But the striking imagery makes for muddled action and the script confuses it further. The ending looks startling but it takes a long time–and a not particularly satisfying journey–to get there. –Marshall Fine, Amazon.com

this is a ok film wiv a good story, good acting and excellentley directed but most of it is just plain boring!this would be a classic if it had more aliens, more gore and more action!
Rating: 2 / 5
I did not really care for the first ALIEN film. Part II was slightly better, but not much. Alien 3 I thought was the best of the entire series. David Fincher does an outstanding directing job here, really delivering an eerie atmosphere that hasn’t quite been created for the other parts. Both Sigourney Weaver and Charles Dance perform brilliantly. A great SCI-FI film, far better than its reputation.
Rating: 5 / 5
Watch this film. You will be amazed by it. Ok then the alien eats to much people for its size but the rest is brilliant. If u ever go into a film store rent this film it will stun u. And if u look at the other reviews. No,1 or 2 stars rated on it. I loved it. U really should see it
Rating: 5 / 5
I am completely baffled as to how anyone could believe that this is good (let alone great) film. Any fans of David Fincher should bear in mind that he was brought into directing this film late-on and therefore had far less influence on the final product.
The plot is wafer thin and progresses at a snails pace. Some of the acting is simply awful: it’s really obvious that the British cast-members are performing lines intended for American actors. Alien 3 contains absolutely none of the suspense, thrills or tension that were hallmarks of the first two alien movies.
This film is so poor, even Sigourney Weaver, Lance Henricksen and David Fincher have slagged it. So there!
Rating: 3 / 5
The first Alien/Aliens were classics, so this film had some expectations to achieve. IT DID.
Ripley is rescued from deep sleep, continuing the end story from Aliens, and is found by inmates of a prison facility at the arse end of the universe.
No armed guards here, there is nowhere to escape to. The inmates are high security cases, murderers, rapists to name but a few. The arrival of a woman, the only survivor from the escape pod crash, is met with concern by prisoners and governor alike.
Unknown to ripley, an alien seed survived on the pod, which impregnates a Rottweiler dog of all things, which bares a single (Queen to be) Alien.
Unarmed, with no means of escape, the alien hunts down the prisoners one by one. With Ripleys help, they stand and fight.
GREAT FILM.
