Summary: I stepped outside last night and noted a strange sound, I looked up and saw a diamond shaped craft
Report:
Im an insomniac, so I am frequently awake at odd hours. Last night I went outside to smoke a cigarette and heard a strange sound. At first I thought it was thunder, but then I noted the the sky was clear. I looked up, and saw a diamond shaped craft. The sound could best be described as rumble, silence, rumble, silence. It made me think of someone that didnt know how to drive a stickshift driving a car. Its difficult to put to words, but think of how the engine sounds when that car is being driven…the engine races then slows over and over. The sound wasnt that of a car engine, just the pulsing of the sound was like that. It was alomost like a jet engine doing what I described. Racing, then slowing, racing then slowing.
I ran back into the house and grabbed my camera, because the thing was just sitting there, then it started to slowly move off to the northwest. I only have a digital camera, and after reviewing the pictures, I was unable to capture an image.
The lights on it that were visible were red, and they flashed like landing lights on an airplane.
As it moved away, the sound continued, and it took no less than five minutes for it to move all the way across the sky.

I am often asked why I decided to become a Ufologist. Here is why:
The photo above is one that I took on May 14, 2008.
Location: Off Hwy 206, between Cisco and Cross Plains, Texas.
Time: 5:14 p.m. (17:14 hrs).
I was taking photos of clouds after a storm and captured more than I expected.
The photo was thoroughly analyzed by independent experts, confirming that it is some type of disc-like object, traveling at considerable speed.
In all my years, I’ve seen some odd things in the sky but this object literally changed my life.
I’m sure there are many of you that have had similar experiences, so it’s possible that you understand what drives me to seek the truth concerning “unidentified flying objects.”

Over the past few years, geologist Frank Kimbler has discovered approximately twenty metal fragments near the location of the alleged 1947 Roswell UFO crash. His experience in the area, and his success at finding objects there, led to his recent appearance on the National Geographic (NatGeo) channel’s show Chasing UFOs.

With help from the Roswell International UFO Museum and Research Center, Kimbler was able to have isotopic analysis conducted on one of his Roswell metal fragments in 2010. Kimbler explained to Open Minds that the results showed that “either the lab made an analytical error or the material is not from Earth.” Ben McGee, a research scientist and team member on Chasing UFOs, explained in a NatGeo blog post:
[W]hen subjected to an initial test, the magnesium isotopes found in one of Kimbler’s metal fragments appeared to indicate a non-terrestrial isotopic fingerprint. However, without further testing, such results could also have been the result of natural and statistical variability in the laboratory analytical process. So, while ultimately not conclusive of an extraterrestrial “find” without further analysis, communicating the idea of elemental isotopes and their role in helping scientists currently determine geological material of extraterrestrial origin makes this segment an important one!
And Kimbler, who teaches Geology and Earth Science at the New Mexico Military Institute, agrees with McGee. He knows that good science requires additional testing before any conclusions are drawn.
Kimbler led the Chasing UFOs team through the area where he has had success finding metal fragments in the past. He was excited to participate in the show because, as he claims, NatGeo agreed to have some additional analysis done on his unusual metal. But the testing did not take place. In a recent interview on the web series Spacing Out!, Kimbler explained:
National Geographic didn’t want to follow chain-of-custody protocols for it. They said they couldn’t afford to fly me out to have the analysis done. I didn’t want to give them a piece of the material to have it sit in their office for days on end, or even weeks or months . . . They said the lab said that they needed a month to do the testing, and I know that’s not true. It would take them maybe a day to calibrate it, and a day to run the test. It doesn’t take a month to do that.

But Kimbler is eager to have additional testing done on his metal, so he compromised. He said, “If we’ll sign papers and have people who can sign off on this . . . I will be more than delighted to do this, but guess what? They wouldn’t do it.”
His experience on the show left him disappointed that “that whole scientific aspect of this went by the wayside.” As a scientist, he says he is not invested in one outcome or another. He explains, “Either way, I wanted some good science done.”
Kimbler is hopeful that another show will come forward to make the testing happen, and to give the metals the attention he feels they deserve.

The News Tribune published a story on August 2 about strange lights recently reported over the Columbia River in Washington State. Finley, WA resident Jerry Nelson saw the UFO fly over the Columbia River near Burbank on the night of Tuesday, July 31. He described the silent object as “long” and “massive” with “three lights spaced far apart.” He is sure the craft he saw slowly gliding through the night sky was not an airplane.
And on August 3, the News Tribune published a follow-up story revealing that several more witnesses saw strange aerial lights in the area. Other witnesses report seeing lights in the sky during the same time Nelson reported seeing the UFO on July 31. One witness reports that she has “never seen anything like them before.” But Betty Jones, a Kennewick, WA resident, says she saw similar lights in the sky the following day. She explains, “They would go in a circle and back and forth. It was odd. Like it was bobbing on water.”
According to Peter Davenport of the Washington-based National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC), eight witnesses contacted him to report the UFO. And although he says the description of these lights is consistent with a commercial aircraft, the News Tribune reports that Davenport said Thursday “that his interest in the case is piqued.”
Some witnesses report the object or objects were silent, while others describe hearing a “popping” sound. And some witnesses suggest the lights in the sky were simply military helicopters. But no official identification has been made.
UFO sighting reports to NUFORC have nearly tripled in the past month. And this latest group of sightings in Washington’s Tri-Cities area comes only a week after a crop circle appeared in a wheat field in eastern Washington.
