While enjoying an afternoon at the park, a Manchester, New Hampshire resident, his son and several other witnesses observe a strange cylindrical object, as it floats along in the air.

Here is that report which was originally submitted to MUFON.

MUFON Case #  32295
Date:    2011-09-30
Time:   16:30
City:    Manchester
State:    New Hampshire
Shape:    Cigar,Cylinder
Distance:    100 feet or less
Summary: 4 feet by 2.5-3 feet, slow moving, slow rotating, solid mass black object. 20 to 30 feet above ground.

Report:
It was September 30th 2011 that my son and I plus others had a very unusual sighting, in a N.H. park the sighting happened between the hours of 4-5pm in the afternoon on a bright non windy day. I had just purchased a new phone the day prior, so the afternoon of the 30th at about 3:20pm my wife had left for work. My son and I had decided to go to the park about 30 minutes after my wife had left for work. The park is located directly in front of our apartment complex building so we walked over to the playground where there was three teenage girls, and a mother of two little children and her father, I sat down on the farthest corner bench in the park playground and began playing around with the features on my new cell phone.

About 20 minutes later My son had approached me saying, “Daddy! There is something in the sky!” and then he pointed in the direction of what it was he was talking about. I said oh ya, just shrugging off what he said at first but then I looked directly in the direction he was pointing and I saw just as it was passing the first set of tree branches, the tail end of a solid black object slowly floating away. I then stood up and walked over to the other side of the playground where one of the three young teenagers was starring up at the object as well. I asked her immediately “Do you see that?” she replied “yes I do, What is that!” I then turned and ran towards the object. It was moving very slow and in a straight direction while rotating counter clock wise.

I at first thought that it was a garbage bag or helium balloon just sailing across the sky at about 20-30 feet up in the air. I could see this object perfectly and began to realize it was neither a balloon or bag and their was no wind present at the time to push it, maybe at 100 feet or higher but not 20 or 30 feet. It seemed to be solid but with a natural type of texture to it(hard to explain its features exactly) and a appendage on each end and a antenna or rod of some kind in its center but at the same time it seemed like it was light as a feather by the way it was moving through the air with no shaking or wobbling of any kind and it gave off no sound what so ever. I have to admit my son saw it much better then I, After this incident occurred I began to forget the objects exact features, but my son remembered it clearly and drew his own picture of the object and we compared. I have never been so freaked out in my life.

The object was about 4 feet long by 2 ½ to 3 feet wide and I Remember it was between 20-30 feet up in the air at first. If it was a remote controlled device it would have gave off a sound of some kind, being maybe fans or a motor but there was NOTHING! not even a hum. Also it had no light reflection at all and the sun was pointing directly at the side of this object. The sun was not blaring and there was some clouds but it was definitely a clear enough day for the sun to shed its rays and the sun was visible. You would think that a bag or helium balloon would at least give off a reflection of some sort. I had a hard time making out some of the exact details on the object, their was no perfectly smooth surfaces.

I then began to try to use my camera on my phone but I could not get to the video fast enough, by the time I unlocked the phone and searched the menu for the camera and started to film, the object raised itself higher and through the opening in the trees and just kept moving higher and higher in a angle but staying on the same straight course as it was originally till it was out of sight. I did not know how to use all the features on my phone so I could not even figure out the right button for the zoom.

I just want to add that the object was always moving in one straight path and the park is completely surrounded by closely tight trees at least 100 feet tall and this object found the one and only opening between the trees about 60 feet up and went through it with ease and all while staying on a straight path. (almost like its path was planned) By the time I started filming, the object was just a black spec on a bad phone camera video with lots of pixelation. (I do still have the video but it does not show much due to bad pixelation, Go figure). I rushed from the excitement and just didn’t play my actions correctly, I would have ran after it to try and film it better but I would have been stranding my 7 year old son alone at a playground with strangers and I had to let it go. It’s not everyday you see something like this and from now on I’m going to keep a GOOD camera by my side.

I have added a illustration of the park and the object, I also placed a picture of a person (which is myself) so that you would know the scale of this object and the height it was at from the ground up. I wasn’t actually holding my camera up until the object began to exit through the tree opening. The funniest thing is that after all was said and done (which was about 3 minutes or so) everyone at the park no longer said a word about it and acted as if nothing had just happened (including myself). But as the evening had went on that day it began to bug me and my memories the more I thought about it the more I lost visual on it but thanks to my son that just wouldn’t let me forget about it I held on to the event. I think my brain was trying to play it off like it was a dream. I’m not sure who else saw it but the young girl I spoke to definitely did and I will be asking the others if I see them. It boggles me that I didn’t ask anyone else anything right after the incident.

I have seen one other incident years prior but I just decided to pawn it off as a satellite due to it being so far away but now I’m reconsidering that decision. I’m done Rationalizing everything, I have always been a religious person at heart and this incident has really freaked me out(although it did not scare me when I witnessed it, I was more in disbelief and excitement then anything), but my son was not freaked nor was he scared at the least then or now, I told him it was just a balloon so that he wouldn’t worry and even at the age of 7 he knows better, he just told me “Daddy I have seen balloons and I have never seen one like that,it had a antenna!.”

MUFON Case #  32312
Date:    2011-10-03
Time:   14:30
City:    GREENCASTLE
State:    Indiana
Shape:    Disc
Distance:    One mile or less
Summary:    BRIGHT SILVER POLISHED DISC STATIONARY IN THE SKY, THEN IT DISAPPEARED.

Report:
I am an auto claims adjuster for an Auto Insurance Company.

I drive daily approx. 100- 250 miles per day.

I was in Greencastle Indiana at the Marathon gas station at St. rd. 40 & St. rd 231, Greencastle. Met a customer there, wrote the estimate, then proceeded to drive south on St. Rd. 231 to get back on I-70 east.

I was driving south on St. Rd. 231 south, approx 3-5 miles before hitting the exit for I-70. Out of the left corner of my eye, I saw a bright, silver, disc shaped object that appeared stationary in the sky.

The object was located to the south east of my position as I was driving south on 231, toward I-70.

I would guess that the object was pretty close to the Indianapolis International Airport at the time of my sighting.

I am prior Air Force Special Ops, and prior commercial air line jet mechanic. At first, I thought the object could possibly be a plane that had a polished stainless steel fuselage. As I continued to view the object, it was not moving, had no noticable wings of any type, and was very bright. There were little to no clouds in the sky at the time.

The more I looked, the more I realized that I have never seen an object like this, no markings, just a bright perfect disc shaped object that left no vapor trail, and was not moving around. it just sat there in the sky.

As I continued to watch the object, it suddenly just disappeared.

It did not move off in any direction, it simply vanished.

I thought to myself, holy ****, that was a freakin UFO.

The first thing I did was call my wife. I explained it to her, and she then confessed that she had seen the exact same thing some time ago.

I asked her why she never told me?, and she said that she thought maybe she was just seeing things, and really didn’t want to believe what she saw was a UFO.

UFO updates

Of all the alleged UFO contact cases, one in particular stands out from all the rest. The case of Eduard “Billy” Meier has polarized Ufology for at least thirty-five years. Legions of so called “followers” support the case without question, while the scientific community in general believes the entire account to be an elaborate hoax. Starting on January 28, 1975 Billy Meier (resident of Schmidruti Switzerland) claims to have photographed authentic extraterrestrial spacecraft. He further claims that the occupants of these vehicles travelled to earth from the M45 star-cluster known as the Pleiades in the constellation Taurus. However, are the photos taken by Billy Meier authentic, and can they be duplicated using modern computer techniques? Furthermore, what specific points can be learned by comparing the Billy Meier photos against other purported UFO photos which are part of the vast collection compiled by the late Col. Wendelle Stevens?

After closely examining literally thousands of UFO photos originating from the Wendelle Stevens collection, fourteen significant criteria points became abundantly clear which can be used to gauge the authenticity of a particular image. Any purported UFO photo which contains three or more of the points listed below should immediately raise a “red flag”, and indicate the strong possibility that the photo is a hoax:

  1. Multiple grouped UFO’s photographed in the same shot.
  2. UFO never photographed on the ground
  3. Object too large or disproportionate (use of forced or “false perspective” technique)
  4. Object perfectly centered in frame
  5. Object positioned perfectly about the vertical axis
  6. Photograph too clear
  7. Object surrounded by trees or various structures to obscure suspension rig
  8. Evidence of fabrication using household items (cups, balls, paper-plates, ornaments, lids)
  9. Identical background used to photograph different craft
  10. Evidence of “eye-screws” used to hang models from suspension rig
  11. Multiple craft photographed on the same date
  12. Lack of field propulsion distortion
  13. Lack of photographs of identical craft from a totally separate source
  14. Consistent encounters of craft in “rural” or unpopulated areas

Photograph of Type II “Beamship” by Billy Meier March 18, 1975.

The photo above fails the authenticity test on three accounts. The object is perfectly composed in the frame, and also appears to be perfectly focused. In addition, the UFO is positioned exactly about the 90 degree vertical axis without the slightest hint of a slant. Per comments made by Billy Meier, the “Beamship” landed on the ground, and its occupant known as “Samjase” personally met with Meier multiple times. However photographs of this craft on the ground have never surfaced. Could this be due to the fact that the logistics of building a twenty-two foot diameter mock-up were too cost prohibitive?

In the above photograph, the UFO is perfectly composed in the frame, and centered about the vertical axis. Note that the craft appears very large in this photo (evidence of the forced or false perspective technique in use).

Note “eye-screw” used to suspend model.

Additional shots of the Beamship show clear evidence of fakery. Note the use of an “eye-screw” which was clearly utilized to hang the model from a suspension rig. In the process of building UFO models used to hoax photos, ordinary household items such as cups, bowls and paper plates can eventually weigh up to one pound making a robust attachment point a necessity.

The above two photos really are a laughable joke, and should never be considered authentic for multiple reasons. The craft is grossly out of proportion, and perfectly focused. Also note that it is perfectly oriented about the vertical axis. Note the close proximity of a tree in the background which may have been used to support the model. Looking closely at the image, it’s clear that ordinary materials were used to construct the craft. For the base, a standard plastic bin lid was used. For the “lower deck”, readily available plastic spheres were utilized. Ordinary brass shelf supports (see red ellipse) were used on the “mid deck” to give the craft a more “technical look”. Also note the gap between the spheres on the mid deck (shown by red arrow) indicating that there were spacing errors encountered during the assembly process. Also note in the above photo that you can’t actually see the craft sitting on the ground. Could this be because showing the entire bottom of the craft would give away its actual size?

Billy Meier UFO Photo

Photo of multiple Beamships taken by Billy Meier on March 8, 1976.

Note in the above photo that there are three different shaped UFO’s in the same shot. This is an EXTREAMLY rare occurrence. In fact, Billy Meier seems to be the only person alive on earth to have captured such an image. Note that two of the vehicles appear aligned about the vertical axis. Also note that the three craft are grouped together relatively closely. Might this be due to the fact showing one vehicle separated from the other two would bring it out of the field of view exposing multiple suspension rigs?

Photo of Beamship Type III taken by Billy Meier on March 8, 1976.

Note that the above photo was taken on March 8, 1976 which turns out to be the same date as Billy Meier’s multiple craft encounter (described above). This indicates that Meier had two separate encounters with different craft on the same day (highly unlikely). Also note that the craft is perfectly focused, and centered within the frame. The vehicle appears directly oriented about the vertical axis (exactly what would be expected due to the natural effect of gravity pulling on a suspension line). Note the relatively large size of the craft indicating additional use of the forced perspective technique.

Photo of Beamship Type I taken by Billy Meier on June 14, 1975.

The above photo shows signs of the forced perspective technique in use. Additionally, the craft is perfectly in focus, and aligned about the vertical axis.

After examining all of the UFO photos taken by Billy Meier which are part of the Wendelle Stevens collection, it is the assessment of this author that some of them are 100% fabricated, and therefore must be deemed hoaxes. The fact that none of the craft photographed exhibit any type of field propulsion distortion adds to this conclusion. Keeping in mind the physical properties of scale, proportion, line-of-sight, field of view, and focus, it appears that some the purported Billy Meier photos appear to be small scale models (approximately 14” in diameter) which have been suspended in front of the camera. Later, additional photo trickery was applied to remove any evidence of strings or wires. If the alleged encounters with these UFO’s did actually take place, why is it then, that none of the residents of the homes in the immediate vicinity photographed them? So called “metal samples” recovered from the Beamships by Billy Meier were independently examined by the University of Arizona, and were determined to be ordinary Copper and Silver. The case of Billy Meier should serve as a warning to Ufologists, and the general public as well to the dangers of “jumping on the UFO bandwagon” before a rigorous independent third party investigation is completed. Indeed the words of the late Carl Sagan apply: “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence”.

Listen to the hosts of Open Minds Radio discuss Billy Meier here, and at this link you can hear Billy Meier’s official US representative, Michael Horn, explain why he thinks the case is legitimate (show airs 10/3/2011 at 7 pm pacific).
